Titled The Beauty of Color: A selling exhibition of Colored Diamonds and Gemstones, the event will comprise approximately 150 pieces of fine jewelry including rings, earrings, brooches, necklaces, bracelets featuring radiant gems and glorious hues in full spectrum. Visitors will be taken on a journey through the origins of rare colored diamonds – known in the trade as “fancy” diamonds – and can expect to be beguiled by the vibrant yellows, intense blues, and vivid pinks on view.

Emeralds, rubies, and sapphires will also be on display. Prices start from US$12 000 to $7 000 000, available upon request. “Highlights will include two sets of white and yellow diamonds, one with fancy yellow and white radiant-cut diamonds of 350ct and the other with fancy yellow pear-shaped diamonds of 185.88ct,” says Julien Vincent- Brunie,Christie’s international head of private sales jewelry. “Also, a stunning diamond flower brooch with pavé-set fancy pink diamond leaves around a cluster of 22 brilliant-cut, pear and marquise-shaped – a modern take on a classic.”

Christie’s Middle East has built a strong presence in Dubai since its inaugural auction in 2006 and continues to expand through online auctions, private sales, and viewings like The Beauty of Color. According to managing director Meagan Kelly Horsman, as the UAE furthers its international reputation as the hub of luxury, style, and glamour in the Middle East, Dubai was an obvious choice for this event. “There is continued demand, both in volume and in value, for unique high jewelry pieces and in particular sets of incredible jewels,” she says, adding that private sales as an alternative to auctions are becoming an increasingly important part of doing business in the luxury secondary market. “Private sales enable our clients to transact in total confidence and to buy and sell with immediacy.”
