Christian Louboutin’s Moda Operandi exclusive capsule drops today and the offering is worthy of the Château de Versailles. Three styles inspired by the opulent 18th-century French court and their Rococo embroideries are offered in a limited edition of only 50 units each. The shoes, in the stiletto Pigalle, open-toed mule, and ballerina style required approximately 67 hours of work per pair to create and hand embroider in gold or silver thread and paillettes, with up to six people scrupulously working on the creations.
From Versailles to Cairo, the shoe design maestro shares his favorite vacation destination in the July/August issue of Vogue Arabia. Between a traditional adobe house in Luxor and his dahabieh, a classic Egyptian sailboat on the Nile, Louboutin has crystalized his love of Egypt – a country he cherishes and calls his second home. “I used to watch old Egyptian films. Then, I visited the country and fell under the charm of its history and its present,” recounts the designer. Read the full feature here.
