Born Cherilyn Sarkisian on May 20, 1946, the original diva with a heart was never afraid to push boundaries throughout her six-decade-long career. From modish 60s costumes, as part of the Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, infamous psychedelic prints, to her outlandish and flamboyant costume for the 1986 Academy Awards, the inspired creative loved nothing more than defying trends. The common thread? Outlandish excess and a nod to glam rock.
