Chanel, one of France’s most famed fashion houses is opening the final day of this season’s Paris fashion week, with an unmissable live show. The fashion house will be presenting its Spring/Summer 2021 ready-to-wear collection with a live catwalk at the Grand Palais in Paris, and you can have a front-row seat to the show, from the comfort of your own home, as the display will also be available via a livestream.
Chanel has seen times of change over the last two years, with the notable absence of the formidable Karl Lagerfeld, and navigating the challenges faced by the coronavirus pandemic. However, as the house returns to a live runway, be ready to expect the glamor, elegance, and the beauty that is ever-present in a Chanel collection.
Chanel recently released the upcoming show’s teaser, which is developed by Dutch photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. If the show today is to reflect the teaser, you can be sure to witness the allure of Hollywood radiating throughout the collection and its presentation. The short film is shown in black and white and sees the Chanel name placed instead of the unmistakeable Hollywood sign. Featuring extracts from many iconic films including, Breathless (1960), La Piscine (The Swimming Pool), (1969), by Jacques Deray, A Woman Is a Woman (1961), Contempt (1963) and, and Elevator to the Gallows (1958) by Louis Malle, this short-film poignantly brings together three of French cinema’s most celebrated actors, Romy Schneider, Anna Karina, and Jeanne Moreau.
Tune in via the livestream below to see Chanel’s unmissable Spring/Summer 2021 show today, October 6, at 12:30pm GST. To view the other live shows taking place on the last day of Paris fashion week today, click here.
