She’s a Bollywood icon who often represents her nation by turning to Indian designers, such as Rashmi Varma and Mohammed Mazhar. However Sonam Kapoor is also known to give a nod to labels from this part of the world, such as Lebanon’s Ashi Studio and Dubai’s Atelier Zuhra – and this week was no exception.
The 32-year-old actor is currently on the promotional trail for her new film Veere Di Wedding, and has been showcasing her covetable style as well as her latest work. Kapoor, who is styled by her sister, Rhea, turned to Dubai-based designer Huda Al Nuaimi for one bucolic look, comprised of a cropped blouse and floor-sweeping skirt. Clad in an intricate floral print, the Spring 2018 outfit fused a laid-back ease with a romantic femininity, with its fine blooms and voluminous sleeves. The Emirati designer, who studied at the London College of Fashion, first launched her label in 2010, and shared an image of Kapoor in her design.
Kapoor, who wed businessman Anand Ahuja in Mumbai earlier this month, kept the spring theme going throughout the week, also donning a powder-pink suit by Georgian designer Keti Chkhikvadze. With its exaggerated, structured shoulders and juxtaposition of hemlines, the two-piece exuded a powerfulness while still retaining an air of romance.
