Which Dubai-Based Label Was Just Worn by Rihanna?

We first fawned over Lama Jouni‘s newest collection back in June – and it appears we weren’t the only ones. Superstar Rihanna this week repped the Dubai-based label, wearing a piece from the Fall 2018 line as she landed at Sydney Airport. The chart-topper, who held her first-ever beauty masterclass in Dubai this week, is currently on a world tour to celebrate the one-year anniversary of her cosmetics brand, Fenty Beauty.

For her long-haul look, the Barbadian singer and actor wore comfy track pants and loose waves with her oversized black tee, plucked from Jouni’s collaboration with photography giant Kodak. With a logo emblazoned across the front of the design, the understated piece blends a vintage appeal with a modern, slouchy silhouette.

The Fall collection was inspired by the feud between the late Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G, Jouni told Vogue.me earlier this year. “Music is my passion, and one of my favorite genres is hip-hop,” said the Lebanese womenswear designer. “So for this collection, I drew my inspiration from the ’90s hip-hop scene, with a focus on Tupac and Biggie, and the entire East Coast versus West Coast conflict.”

The 2017 DDFC/Vogue Fashion Prize ready-to-wear design finalist, whose Kodak tee has also been worn by Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, has made a habit of seeking inspiration from her favorite musicians, crediting Whitney Houston as the muse behind her Spring 2018 offering. Want to follow in Rihanna’s fashion-forward footsteps? The coveted tee is available online at lamajouni.com for AED 390.
