She’s been feteing her impending nuptials in serious fashion over the last few days, but Priyanka Chopra just surpassed herself when it comes to pre-bridal style. The Quantico star, who is celebrating her upcoming wedding to musician Nick Jonas with her nearest and dearest, stepped out this week in an ethereally romantic creation fit for a blushing bride-to-be, and it comes from one revered regional designer.
Taking to the streets of Amsterdam, where the Indian-born actor is marking her bachelorette party, Chopra swirled through the picturesque city in a flurry of feathers and sequins. Her mini dress, which featured a delicate plumed train, was plucked from the Spring 2018 haute couture collection of Georges Chakra, the Lebanese couturier famed for his whimsically feminine gowns. With plenty of embellishment, the sequin and crystal-encrusted dress tempered the fluid, flowing feathers, creating a fusion of modern disco and dreamy nostalgia. Chopra finished off the look with co-ordinating Christian Louboutin pumps and a white coat, to fight the European destination’s biting fall temperatures.
The 36-year-old was joined by friends and family – including sister-in-law-to-be, and Game of Thrones star, Sophie Turner – who each sported vibrant red ensembles, to help Chopra stand out from the crowd. It’s the third time the actress has turned to a feather-accented creation as she celebrates her wedding, having worn a plumed sweater for an Amsterdam boat ride, as well as a strapless Marchesa gown for her bridal shower last week. Could that suggest a touch of down could feature on her big day?
We won’t have to wait too long to see, as Chopra and Jonas are believed to be tying the knot later this month. The couple, who became betrothed on the actress’s birthday in July after a whirlwind romance, are reportedly set to marry in Chopra’s home nation of India between November 30 and December 2, in a three-day affair with 200 guests present.
The couple will tie the knot in Jodhpur, according to Times of India, with a source telling the publication the wedding will take place in a palace. While a location has not yet been confirmed, Jodhpur – the second largest city in Rajasthan – is home to the famed Umaid Bhavan Palace, where Liz Hurley wed Arun Nayyar back in 2007. Times of India also reports that the couple recently visited the city to finalize wedding arrangements, as well as visit friends, signaling the big day could be held in the imminent future.
Speaking at the launch of the Tiffany Blue Book Collection in New York earlier this month, Chopra opened up about her tight bond with Jonas, revealing they were united by “love for family and faith”. “We’ve known each other for a couple of years but we dated for just a little while, but I think that’s the one thing we really connect on is our love for family and knowing faith is so important to us,” she said, according to E! News. “It’s a very different feeling I never realized that having a boyfriend and having a fiancé are completely different. It just feels different. There’s gravitas. You feel like family, which is just so different.”
