Céline Dion Goes Full Futuristic Diva With Her Latest Outfit

There’s no such thing as a fashion off day when you’re Céline Dion. The legendary diva has taken dressing up to the next level and nowhere is that more evident than on her Instagram account. She regularly enlivens social media with well-timed updates in head to couture, chilling out in the pieces direct from the runway. Currently gearing up for her latest world tour, Dion took time out to play with a particularly striking ensemble today. In plaid Calvin Klein dress and a pair of crimson Off-White x Jimmy Choo boots, she presented a high drama take on tartan which she fittingly captioned with one word: fierce.

Asymmetrical with a single long sleeve and a cherry and white color scheme, the Raf Simons-designed dress would have made a statement on its own, but Dion and her stylist Law Roach always go for the boldest possible look. Fashioned from bright red satin with a clear overlay, the Off-White boots are the kind of statement piece that start a conversation. Fun fact: They’re covered with thermoplastic polyurethane aka TPU, the same plastic and silicone material used for cell phone cases, laptop protectors, and 3-D printing. Though sneaker manufacturers have already been using the material—Adidas and Nike both utilize it for their running shoes—Virgil Abloh skipped the sporty associations and focused on the glamour. Whether or not you love towering heels made with high tech fabrics, the boots command attention, and on Dion they provided the striking final touch that gave her outfit its verve.

This isn’t the first epic fashion moment Dion has displayed in recent weeks either; the Québécois songstress won the fashion world’s heart in a yellow power suit from Lebanese designer Maison Rabih Kayrouz last month. And, just days later, the 50-year-old My Heart Will Go On star slipped into a second statement suit from a label of the region, this time courtesy of Lebanese couturier Elie Saab.
