Beyoncé Represents Indian Designers During Lavish Wedding Festivities

The buzz surrounding Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas‘s high-profile, Mumbai-based nuptials has barely begun to quieten, but it was another lavish Indian wedding that hit the headlines this weekend – mainly because of its seriously superstar entertainment and guest list.

Beyoncé took to the stage for the pre-wedding festivities in Udaipur of Isha Ambani, the daughter of India’s richest man, and Anand Piramal, who is the son of another Indian billionaire businessman, ahead of the wedding ceremony on Wednesday. Wearing suitably opulent attire for the occasion, the singer’s outfits celebrated several Indian fashion houses. She wore a red and gold ensemble by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, accessorized with traditional jewelry from wedding couturier Anita Dongre’s label Pinkcity, featuring a gold chandelier earring set with uncut diamonds and pearls, a ruby-hued stone and crystal haathpool and an ornate mathapatti.

Later, she changed into a bejeweled gold bodysuit from Falguni and Shane Peacock with thigh-high gold boots, and then a heavily embellished burgundy outfit by Shivan and Narresh. The set list ranged from an energetic rendition of “Crazy In Love” to a solo version of “Perfect”, her duet with Ed Sheeran.

The beginning of the celebrations for Ambani and Piramal also saw newlyweds Chopra (for whom Ambani was a bridesmaid less than two weeks ago) and Jonas, as well as Hillary Clinton and a host of business tycoons, in attendance. Beyoncé wasn’t the only performer either, as Bollywood stars also marked the sangeet, which is an evening of music and dance.

While official photographers of the occasion are yet to be released, Beyoncé shared pictures of her outfits on Instagram following her Sunday night performance.
