How to make a suit and sneakers work together? Look to Bella Hadid, who stepped out this past Sunday in the chilled-out combination beloved by modern CEOs. She wore a black turtleneck and a chunky slate-gray suit with a jacket that reached her upper thigh and cropped trousers. For an edge of playfulness, the half-Palestinian model wore fist-size silver hoops and a pair of Aleali May x Air Jordan 1 sneakers. A large Chanel belt with a double-C logo buckle was cinched around her waist, making for an exaggerated hourglass silhouette.
The twist? Hadid switched up her signature tiny sunglasses in favor of bold frames with orange-yellow lenses. The shades recall early 2000s British rap personality Ali G, a character played by comedian and actor Sacha Baron Cohen. Funnily enough, only a few weeks ago, an image circulated around the internet pointing out that young women around New York City were dressing like the fictional loud-mouthed hip-hop aficionado. Turns out they are—and if they’re Hadid, they clearly mean business.
