Matrix fans, it’s almost time! The Matrix Resurrections releases on December 23, 2021, and in case you missed it, promotions for the much-awaited science fiction action film have already kicked off. Last night, the cast of the film came together in San Francisco for the premiere of the movie, and among the most noteworthy looks was—no surprise here—Carrie-Anne Moss‘s ensemble.

Returning to the silver screen as Trinity, Moss walked the red carpet last night in a look that any Matrix fan would want in their own closet. Her pick: a sheer black Oscar de la Renta gown that featured a plunging neckline and a billowing pleated cape. The highlight of her look, however, was the intricate embellishment that donned the bottom half of Moss’s gown. Delicate lines of silver and green sequins recreated the iconic Matrix code lines, and if you zoom in, you’ll also notice that the sequin work was interspersed with unbelievably fine embroidery that spelt out ‘Oscar de la Renta’.

The final look, which has got fans of the franchise all over the world talking, wasn’t just an elegant pick for a big night out, it also honored the Matrix franchise and Carrie-Anne Moss’s 22-year-old bond with her character. To complete her red carpet look, the star opted for green earrings and a chunky silver ring. She kept her beauty look sleek with minimal makeup, and had her ebony bob styled with a simple side parting.

As it turns out, Moss wasn’t the only one to give a nod to her silver screen Matrix avatar at The Matrix Resurrections‘s San Francisco screening. Making her Matrix debut this month, Priyanka Chopra too attended in an ensemble that hinted at her movie role. Dressed in a silver and burnt orange gown, the star revealed, “The colors of my dress are an ode to my character in the film, Sati.
