Caroline de Maigret Brings Parisian Cool to Chanel’s Gabrielle Handbag

Chanel previously revealed that it was bringing a heavyweight lineup of muses to front the new Gabrielle handbag campaign. Conceived by Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director tapped Cara Delevingne, Kristen Stewart, and Pharrell Williams, – the first man to land a bag advertisement for the fashion label – and Caroline de Maigret to star in four short films for the accessory dedicated to the founder.

Set to unveil on April 17, Vogue Arabia offers a first look of the trailer that features De Maigret. The grainy black-and-white footage, captured through the eyes of film director Olivier Assayas, follows De Maigret in a Haussmannian apartment. De Maigret’s ties with the heritage fashion house dates back to 1998, when she caught the attention of Karl Lagerfeld. Since then, she has walked in a number of shows, including the Chanel Spring 1999 Opéra Bastille presentation and the Métiers d’Art Dallas Pre-Fall 2014 showcase. In addition to modeling and campaigns, the spokesperson and front-row fixture recently launched a digital visual diary called CdMdiary by Caroline de Maigret in partnership with the iconic label, where she spills her style secrets and lifestyle tips.

Check Chanel’s social media page tomorrow (March 15) to see all the trailers ahead of the movie premiere of the first film on April 3.
