But some looks stand out no matter what surrounds them, and this year’s Cannes red carpet was no exception. Deepika Padukone's tiered tulle confection is the stuff of dreams. Here, she wears a neon green Giambattista Valli number paired with a soft pink headband and belt. The high-low skirt and dramatic train take the look to the next level.
She looked so good, we just had to feature her twice! Here, Padukone oozes elegance in a dramatic custom Dundas gown with puff sleeves, a thigh-high slit and of course, that giant black bow.
Min Pechaya's pastel fairytale princess outfit is proof that good things take time. Her custom Ali Karoui gown took a month and 240 hours to make, and drew together 250 meters of pleated tulle into one gorgeous outfit.
Tulle is ruling the carpet at Cannes. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore layered tulle Ashi Studio creation featuring feathers, pleated trousers, and a ruffled corset.
Cannes asked for high fashion, and Dior delivered. Elle Fanning channels the 1950s in this silk organza blouse paired with a midnight blue A-line skirt. The hat is a perfect finishing touch that's a nod to La Croisette.

Priyanka Chopra embodies maximalist bridal fashion in this ‘cloud of tulle’ designed by Georges Hobeika. The couture gown features a flouncy, asymmetrical skirt and a ruched neckline.
Georges Hobeika goes from all white to all black in this feathery creation worn by Madison Beer. At Cannes, where there are stairs, a dramatic train will inevitably follow– and this voluminous skirt was among the biggest of the lot.
