At the 72nd edition of the Cannes film festival, the former Miss World championed the Middle East, stepping out in a snakeskin embossed holographic laser leather number by Lebanese couturier Jean-Louis Sabaji.

The fluorescent gown catches sunlight in all the right ways, changing colors from gold and orange into green and yellow. It features a layered long sleeve on one side and a sharp strapless neckline shaping an asymmetrically structured bust.

The execution of the garment took 200 hours of intricate work by the finest artisans of the Jean-Louis Sabaji atelier. “Crafted from 18 meters of stiff and delicate foiled leather, the artisans were not dealing with the usual silk or chiffon, therefore, manipulating the six-layered train and assembling the cuts gathered the whole team of seamstresses to work together on this one dress,” shared Jean-Louis Sabaji with

“Mrs. Aishwayra Rai Bachchan is the ultimate red-carpet queen and dressing her especially for Cannes made me extremely happy. She always wears statement pieces, that ‘s why I created for her an edgy design with an edgier fabric that only she can pull off”.

The feminine and fierce design gives center stage to Jean-Louis’s inspiration, which is “the power of female deities in ancient Greek mythology.” “As Mrs. Rai Bachchan walked the red carpet today, she shined like a goddess with the six-layered edgy train following her as a symbol of completeness and beauty,” remarked Sabaji.
