LVMH has opened its applications for the LVMH Prize 2019 for Young Fashion Designers. Designers aged between 18 and 40 years old, with at least two collections under their belt, can apply through LVMH’s site. Semifinalists are set to be revealed in the new year, with the winner joining the ranks of alumni like Jacquemus and Marine Serre. The winning designer will also receive a €300,000 prize and a “one-year mentorship provided by a dedicated LVMH team, in all fields of expertise,” per the press release. Additionally, the Prize will honor three young graduates who have completed a course in a fashion school with the opportunity to work at one of the many prestigious brands under the LVMH umbrella for a year, which includes Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Dior, and more, plus a €10,000 grant.

Since its launch five years ago, the LVMH Prize has helped to champion young designers from all around the world, and nurture the careers of some of the most exciting designers today. Of its winners, many have gone on to become some of the most-talked-about names on the fashion week schedule, such as Marques’Almeida and Wales Bonner to name a few. Even those who haven’t won have made major waves, such as Virgil Abloh for instance, who was a finalist in 2015 and is now the artistic director of menswear for Louis Vuitton.

The Paris-based conglomerate will reveal more details in January, including the members of the jury and panel of international experts, the 2019 Prize schedule, and communication themes. You can apply now online.
