Burberry’s Cape Reimagined Exhibition Comes to Dubai

Burberry Fall 2017 RTW

The Cape Reimagined, a traveling showcase of Burberry’s made-to-order couture capes, opens its doors at the newly opened Concrete in Dubai’s Arts and Culture District on May 3. The five-day exhibition features a tightly curated edit of 30 limited-edition capes from the Fall 2017 runway. Two of the handmade couture pieces are on window display at the Mall of the Emirates Burberry flagship store.

Larger-than-life photographs at the exhibit display striking, black and white imagery of the 78 capes – all of which have their own names, such as “The Looking Glass,” “The Chandelier,” and “The Pom Pom.” Inspired by English artist Henry Moore’s abstract sculptures, each of the impressive, couture capes can be viewed up close and ordered.

First installed as part of Henry Moore: Inspiration & Process, which was on at Makers House in London following Burberry’s February show, the exhibition has so far traveled to Seoul, Milan, and Los Angeles.

The Cape Reimagined in Dubai will be open to public with free admission 10am-8pm daily from May 3-7, 2017.
