American actor Blake Lively recently made a glamorous return to the limelight. Known as Serena van der Woodsen to fans of the hit TV series Gossip Girl, the actor made an appearance at the New York premiere of her new movie The Rhythm Section a few months after giving birth to her third child with actor Ryan Reynolds.
The mother of the 4-month-old was spotted looking stunning as ever in a dreamy black velvet gown by Dolce & Gabbana paired with matching leather opera gloves, Christian Louboutin’s thigh-high “Fabiola” boots and a layered necklace of pearls and a gleaming 50-carat emerald.
Her new film sees the actor taking on the role of a pro spy who transforms herself by changing her appearance through different wigs. Lively went all out at the Brooklyn event where she appeared embodying that edgy transformation from the movie to reality by changing her hair color from dark bronde to brunette for the premiere. “Doing this movie was the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” Lively said at the New York screening of her film. She added, “Every day I was like, ‘Why am I doing this? I can’t pull this off.’ There was so much training that went into this movie—like weapons training, learning the choreography for the fight scenes, and speaking with a British accent on top of that. But this movie has really helped me grow as an actor. It’s been one of the most rewarding jobs.”
The 32-year-old actor ventured out again the following day for her appearance on Good Morning America wearing a chic yellow Fendi outfit and a set of newly highlighted blonde waves, surprising fans with the overnight switch of hair colors. This isn’t the first time Lively has made use of a witty media strategy to promote her film. In 2018, the actor deleted all posts from her Instagram profile and unfollowed everyone including her husband Reynolds to promote her film A Simple Favour in which she played the role of a woman who goes missing. Not only that, but the actress also made sure that her only followers were people who shared a name with her character from the movie, Emily Nelson.
