Color-based trends will come and go, but black and white are here to remain forever. While stars have long opted for one or the other to make a case for the classics, their combination is quickly emerging as a popular look. This week, not one but three women gave their approval to the monochrome dress on special occasions across the world, and offered their unique takes on the flattering style.

Tunisian actor Dorra Zarrouk attended the 77th Cannes Film Festival in a couture gown by homegrown designer Ali Karoui. The look featured a sparkling strapless black dress in a form-fitting silhouette, paired with voluminous white caped sleeves with a floor-grazing train that followed her as she walked the red carpet. The Vogue Living Arabia cover star completed her outfit for the premiere of Emilia Perez with dazzling jewelry by Messika, and topped her glam off with a bold red lip.

While in Rome to celebrate 140 years of Bulgari, Priyanka Chopra Jonas wore a customer Del Core number in black and white with an off-the-shoulder wing-shaped neckline. The gown put a playful spin on the monochrome dress style as it showcased peeks of black on the white bodice for a more cohesive look. The event also saw the Bulgari ambassador debut a new haircut, joining stars like Balqees, Gigi Hadid, and more in going for the big chop with a bob.

As good as the hues look in a dramatic ensemble, black and white will always be associated with minimalism, making Jennifer Lopez’s latest outfit a perfect example of the style. For the premiere of her new Netflix film Atlas, Jennifer Lopez wore a two-piece look by Greta Constantine, which featured a strapless white top with a black skirt flared at the bottom. The star elevated the look with a statement necklace, and wore her hair up in a sleek bun.
