Big congratulations are in order – Beyoncé has given birth to twins with husband Jay Z in Los Angeles. The bundles of joy are the newest members of the Carter family, joining 5-year-old Blue Ivy Carter, who was born in January 2012.
The superstar singer announced her second pregnancy on February 1, by way of a striking, internet-breaking portrait on her Instagram account, which garnered more than 8 million likes within 24 hours. The image showed Beyoncé kneeling in front of a floral archway, wearing a sheer veil and clutching her baby bump. “We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over,” she captioned the snap. “We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.”
Beyoncé went on to make a number of head-turning maternity appearances, including a show-stopping performance at the 2017 Grammy awards, wearing a Peter Dundas gown. She continued to make sartorial waves, which were well-documented on her Instagram account, by way of twinning moments with Blue Ivy as well as stylish pregnancy looks.

Leading up to the day of the birth, the singer had a baby shower, attended by Serena Williams and other members of the Carter/Knowles family, where her baby bump was decorated with artfully applied henna designs. Mabrouk to the couple!
