This week, all eyes were on Paris, where the latest haute couture collections of the world’s favorite labels were revealed during Paris Fashion Week. Azzedine Alaïa’s Pieter Mulier opened the week with a stand-out show that earned him a standing ovation, while the models at Schiaparelli took us to a whole new planet in a series of whimsical, yet sinfully decadent looks in a palette of black, white and sunshine gold. As the week progressed, Chanel topped trending charts with Charlotte Casiraghi riding a horse down the runway, and Zuhair Murad‘s vibrant collection, which took inspiration from the world of pirates, had us all filled with a sense of wanderlust.

Fashion week, of course, always comes with its fair share of viral street style moments, and this time around, it was Kanye West and Julia Fox that had everyone’s attention. Fox attended the Fendi showcase on January 23 in a quirky all-denim look by Schiaparelli, complete with chunky gold heart earrings and the darkest of smoky eyes.

And that’s not where the sartorial excitement ended. Representing the home turf, both Amina Muaddi and Karen Wazen gave us a crash course in nailing street style while in Paris this week too. While Muaddi’s most-loved look was an animal print mini dress by Dior, Wazen gave us party dressing goals in a slinky blue maxi with a thigh-high slit.

Closer to home, Saudi Arabia had a big fashion moment to celebrate this week, with Dolce & Gabbana’s very first show in the Kingdom. Held at Al Ula, the regal night presented the fashion house’s Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria, and Alta Gioielleria pieces. The very same evening, the city of Riyadh lit up for the 2022 Joy Awards as well. The awards night had several Arab celebrities bringing their A-Game to the red carpet, with Nancy Ajram going for gold in Alexandre Vauthier, and Nadine Nassib Njeim dazzling in a backless black gown adorned with crystals.
