From Mona Zaki to Tara Emad, All the Best Dressed Stars at the Cairo Film Festival 2021

The weekend witnessed a star-studded opening ceremony of this year’s Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) at the famed Opera House in Zamalek. The 43rd edition of the annual event, which is also the region’s longest-running film festival, brought together A-list actors and industry professionals from all over the Arab world who walked the red carpet in dazzling ensembles.

Championing local talent, former cover stars Yousra and Mona Zaki wore looks by Rami Kadi and Maram Borhan, respectively, while Tara Emad opted for a black dress with a plunging neckline by Nicolas Jebran, and Dorra Zarrouk a dazzling number by Zuhair Murad. AlRawabi School for Girls star Rakeen Saad also walked the carpet in a monochrome gown by Honayda, and ditching awards night classics like red and black, actor Salma Abu Deif attended the opening in a bright pink Valentino dress.

Running from November 26 to December 5, this year’s edition of the CIFF aims to be its biggest one yet with new venues, 44 MENA premieres, and seven world premieres alongside the usual panel talks, masterclasses, and networking events. Highlights include the festival’s honorary Faten Hamama Award which will be received by Karim Abdel Aziz and the Golden Pyramid Award for Lifetime Achievement given to Nelly.
