The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 10th annual Governors Awards unfolded on Sunday evening in Los Angeles. The star-studded event was attended by the who’s who of Hollywood, who all assembled at the Ray Dolby Ballroom wearing their glittering Sunday best. Singer-turned-actress Lady Gaga made her Governors Awards debut wearing a black, voluminous Valentino gown plucked from the Italian maison’s Spring 2019 runway. The breathtaking dress featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and giant, puffed sleeves. Also present at the so-called “honorary Oscars” was Black Panther star Lupita Nyong’o, who opted for an ivory, fringe dress from Tom Ford, that featured a plunging neck and cold shoulder sleeves. Meanwhile, Middle Eastern creations found fans in Rashida Jones, Lily Collins, and Michelle Yeoh, who chose gowns from Arab designers Reem Acra, Georges Chakra, and Elie Saab, respectively.
