Bella and Dua Deliver Yet Another Memorable Joint Style Moment

Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa have each carved out distinctive personal styles, but there are some similarities they share. Neither of these two Gen-Z poster girls is afraid to take a fashion risk, whether in a buzzy new-season look or carefully chosen vintage. They’re also both inspired by the Y2K aesthetic: every look they serve has a hint of nostalgia.

To celebrate the first birthday of Gigi Hadid’s daughter, Khai, over the weekend, the duo packed a punch in printed pieces that reflected what was reported to be a “silly skirt or silly pants” dress code for the bash. Dua arrived in a look from Thom Browne’s Resort 2022 collection, styled with the designer’s playful dog handbag and a pair of chunky tartan heels from Nodaleto’s recent collaboration with Marc Jacobs’s Heaven line. Bella opted for a “silly skirt” too, wearing a psychedelic flared midi, a black tank, cropped white shirt and sculptural boots.

Bella and Dua – who is dating Bella’s brother, Anwar – were photographed together in the UK back in August, where they flitted between A-list watering holes Soho Farmhouse and Chiltern Firehouse to mark Dua’s 26th birthday. When in Oxfordshire, they wore cult trainers, summer boots and trophy accessories. Dua flew the flag for homegrown talent in designs by Mowalola – including an acid-green cow-print look – Maximilian, Martine Rose and Cro-Che. Bella was an honorary Brit in Alexander McQueen, and also dressed in pieces from Comme des Garçons, Eytys and Masha Popova.

For a city outing in London, they explored their grungier sides: Bella wore leather trousers, a printed cami, suede jacket and boots, while Dua hit the capital in a knitted top from Gabe Gordon, baggy grey jeans, trainers and a Hydra bag by KNWLS.
