On Monday night, senior students at New York’s Oceanside High School were in for a surprise when Bella Hadid made an unexpected appearance at their senior prom. The half-Palestinian model, who just returned from Paris Men’s Fashion Week, crashed their party bus wearing a quintessentially 2000s outfit favored by everyone from Jennifer Lopez to Britney Spears and, perhaps most memorably, Paris Hilton.
Though Hadid didn’t share any photos from her quick high school visit, it wasn’t long before images surfaced on Instagram showing the model posing with students in a black, velour Juicy Couture tracksuit that certainly stood out against the sea of sequined gowns and crisp tuxedos. The outfit was slightly reminiscent of the white, Swarovski crystal-encrusted Juicy Couture two-piece her older sister, Gigi, wore on the occasion of her 23rd birthday.
Since she first emerged on the scene, the 21-year-old has displayed a liking to early aughts fashion trends, gravitating towards super low-slung trousers, backless tops, teensy sunglasses, and super large hoop earrings, which she paired the throwback tracksuit with.

“Why is Bella Hadid in my town? And at prom?” One Twitter user wrote. Well, according to People, the 21-year-old was on set nearby, at Long Beach where Oceanside High School is located. Hadid, who was on her way to catch a flight to Germany (explaining the ultra-cozy tracksuit), seemingly made a detour to hop aboard the party bus.
The model isn’t the first A-lister to turn up uninvited to a celebration. Celebrities showing up unannounced to special occasions is practically a tradition. Who can forget when Kristen Stewart and Stella Maxwell recently crashed a stranger’s wedding in Canada? Meanwhile, an uninvited Tom Hanks photobombed a couple’s pictures in Central Park last year; and Brad Pitt did something similar in 2013, as did Serena Williams in 2014.
