The half-Palestinian supermodel turned 22 on October 9, with the occasion celebrated by her family, friends, and beau on social media.
The catwalk icon was feted at a gathering on Tuesday night, where she was presented with a towering, butterfly-strewn birthday cake, as her elder sister showed on Instagram. “Celebrating my incredible lil sissy tonight! 22! Can’t believe,” Gigi shared with her 40 million followers, alongside a shot of Bella posing alongside the tiered creation. “Witnessing you shine and share your loving light with the world fills me with pride, and I become more grateful each year for what a true friend you are to me. I love you beyond words my butterfly angel. Happy day, happy year – you deserve the best always!”

Also present at the dinner was Bella’s beau The Weeknd, after the two rekindled their romance earlier this year. The Canadian singer, born Abel Tesfaye, shared several Instagram Stories from the evening, as well as a touching post featuring several shots with his love. “Happy birthday angel,” wrote the Call Out My Name star, alongside a series of selfies showing the pair cozied up at restaurants, karaoke, and on a recent trip to Tokyo. Hadid and Tesfaye first split back in 2016 after an 18-month romance due to “conflicting schedules”, but now appear to be stronger than ever.
Also paying tribute to the model on her big day was her mother, Yolanda Hadid, who shared several throwback images of the star as a young girl.”Happy 22nd birthday to my forever baby girl, may this coming year be your best one yet, filled with all the love, health and happiness you deserve,” wrote Yolanda. “Thank you giving me the gift of motherhood and allowing me to guide you through the good and the most difficult times in life. I am so proud of the extraordinary resilient young woman you have become and the compassionate soul that you are.”
The Dutch model commended her daughter’s ability to see the good in everything and everyone, revealing Bella’s greatest strength, in her eyes, is the “angelic magnetic force you carry within your heart”. “May this day always and forever remind you of how much you are loved, respected and needed.”
