The Emirati singer who never fails to dazzle on stage with statement pieces in saturated hues was recently spotted in yet another shimmering number, this time veering into “under-the-sea” style. As the term suggests, the mermaid-core aesthetic has gained traction more so since the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey is due to release soon.

Fathi’s latest appearance saw her in a turquoise blue dress from Lebanese brand Tony Ward Couture, which came with a floor-grazing train and a fanned-out detailing at the bust giving the dress a mermaid-like silhouette. Catching light in all the right ways, the glimmering dress was styled by Cedric Haddad with a diamond ring and earrings by Yessayan Jewelry. The award-winning star sported her signature glam courtesy of her brand Bex Beauty and wore her hair in a side-parted ponytail.

Balqees Fathi’s strapless gown was a special statement-maker

While her latest ensemble does fall in line with Fathi’s stage wardrobe, it’s always refreshing to see the singer opt for more daring looks over her usually-favored feminine gowns, full-bodied skirts, and caped dresses. It is safe to say that Fathi’s sartorial journey is only getting better with time, as more fashion brands tap her for ambassadorship. With Swarovski already on her portfolio, the 34-year-old was also recently named a Valentino Di.Va for the Middle East region. “To me, it means being part of a community that shares my same values, and with every Valentino piece I wear, I feel liberated and in unconditional love with myself,” she announced on Instagram at the time.

Whether it’s a fresh look, a new partnership, or a complete style transformation, one can always count on Fathi to wow.
