Balqees Fathi‘s repertoire of looks is remarkable, to say the least, but the Emirati singer may have walked out in one of her best outfits yet in Cannes yesterday. After all, you only make your debut at La Croisette once in your life, and for Fathi, that day was the premiere of Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.

Invited by French high jeweler Messika, Fathi walked the illustrious red carpet in a head-turning look by none other than Giambattista Valli. While stars at this year’s Cannes Film Festival have opted for bold hues like black, red, and metallics, Fathi made a statement in radiant white. The singer wore a romantic lace gown by the Italian couturier, which came with an off-the-shoulder neckline, sheer sleeves, and a fishtail silhouette putting a delicate spin on the ‘mermaidcore’ trend. Stylist Cedric Haddad paired the dreamy number with Messika’s white and yellow diamond choker, earrings, and a stack of geometric rings on each hand.

For her glam, the Bex Beauty founder looked to her own products to create an ultra-glowy, burnished rose gold look, which also shared the spotlight with her 90s-inspired hairstyle. Fathi took her recently chopped bob out for a spin for its first major event in a slicked-back ponytail complete with a hair flip. The retro ‘do has quickly become a star-favorite, and has been spotted on everyone from Jennifer Lopez to Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner.

Fathi took to Instagram to share the special moment of her walking the Cannes Film Festival red carpet with her nearly 16 million followers. The singer was joined by Valerie Messika, the founder and artistic director of her namesake jewelry brand.
