Bahraini Brand Amal Al Mulla Brings on Spring

A designer’s mood board is often an in-house secret that rarely makes its way out of the atelier. The Bahraini label Amal Al Mulla launched in 2014 and has fast established itself as a maison that prides itself on understated chic wardrobe staples. As its Spring 2018 collection makes its merry way onto the wish lists of the best-dressed women, Vogue takes a peek at the inspiration fuelling the new look.

The Spring 2018 collection is available in Saks Fifth Avenue Bahrain and on Ounass. In 2018, the brand will expand into department stores across the UAE, and reach out to new clients via exhibitions and private trunk shows. Beloved by Dana Al Khalifa from the Overdressed and Acsia, Amal Al Mulla looks bold in its fourth year. The latest collection is a testament to the  designer’s ability to strike the fashion zeitgeist and resonate with a global audience. Yet, Al Mulla retains that undercurrent of Middle Eastern flair. “I think being Middle Eastern gives us the advantage of understanding the women in the region, as we are one of them. We represent the young generation and are happy to be able to express our culture in the pieces we create by giving it a modern take and keeping true to our aesthetic.”

Not only are the clothes made in Bahrain, the silhouettes are longline and can easy relate to an edgy, modest wardrobe. “For our Spring 2018 collection, we were inspired by a series of transitional emotions, designing beautiful and versatile pieces that tell a story,” Al Mulla tells Vogue.me. The collection focuses “on principles that help us embrace women and all that we are and bring them forward. By exploring the notions of femininity against functionality within in a way that suits the modern woman, we created a collection that feels absolute, alive, and bright with possibility.” Expect to see some of these key pieces on the street style circuit come fashion month in February.

The Amal Al Mulla Spring 2018 collection is available from Saks Fifth Avenue Bahrain and online at Ounass.
