This Saudi Arabian Designer Dominated Day Seven of The Cannes 2019 Red Carpet

Ashi Studio is steeped in Middle Eastern culture, and the Lebanese-based Saudi Arabian fashion house has been making money moves. And no, that’s not just because Cardi B chose to be immortalized in wax wearing one of their dresses– it’s also because red carpet looks at events big and small have featured the brand, started in 2007 by founder Mohamed Ashi.

Ashi Studio’s pieces are inspired by the Middle East but retain a timeless elegance wherever they go. Remember Beyoncé’s famous pink dress? And Cardi B’s black dress from her music video for ‘Money’? That was Ashi Studio. They’ve proven to be a force on the Cannes red carpet as well: Just yesterday, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madison Headrick and Thai actress Min Pechaya sported Ashi creations on the red carpet.

“Opulence is an element of drama, a vision of a dream, and people like to dream. The red carpet is the perfect setting to unleash this vision and tell these dreamy stories. Especially the Cannes red carpet; the amalgamation of couture, film, and celebrity – the energy is like no other. It is an honor to be a part of such an event and to see my work on the Cannes red carpet,” Mohamed Ashi says of his presence at Cannes.

Ashi Studios’ affair with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Cannes go way back. The first time Rai Bachchan wore an Ashi Studio creation to Cannes was in 2017. This time, though, Ashi Studio and Aishwarya Rai amped up the glam to create this show-stopping look. Aishwarya’s custom-made couture look featured white feathers and pleated tulle point d’esprit trousers with a strapless ruffled peplum hem corset.

Madison Headrick was a vision in this vivid magenta ballgown. The gown featured an up-down skirt and was belted at the waist. We’re in love with those asymmetrical sleeves, too!

Min Pechaya personally thanked Ashi Studio on her Instagram for the look she wore to the red carpet: and looking at her now, we can see why! She looked radiant in the embroidered high neck taffeta long-sleeved dress, which was taken to the next level with an embroidered cape as well.
