Ahead of her Fall 2017 presentation that’s set to take place at Fashion Forward on March 23, Saudi designer Arwa Al Banawi reveals a sneak peek of her first see-now-buy-now collection. Available following her show at Corcel on March 26 for two consecutive weeks, the timely set of graphic T-shirts, sweaters and a sampling of her signature statement blazers tie in with the theme of her latest offering titled “Hayataha, which translates to Her Life. Inspired by female empowerment and gender equality, relaxed knit tops and cotton tees read The Suitable Woman and are scripted with Arabic typography that translate to I Studied in America. Speaking to Vogue Arabia about the limited-edition lineup, Al Banawi says, “I wanted to shine light on the Arab woman who is leaving her mark in the world. She’s strong, confident in her own skin, and works hard for her independency.”

In addition to her foray into the see-now-buy-now movement, Al Banawi has teamed up with Adidas Originals. During her Fall 2017 presentation, looks will be styled with the sportswear brand’s new EQT sneaker (that will debut at Al Banawi’s pop-up and Adidas outlets in the region) as well as active-wear separates such as sports bras. “I’m really happy about the style collaboration. It emphasizes on the wearabilty of my pieces and echoes the sporty side of the collection,” she says. Indeed, the collection riffs with an athleisure aesthetic that’s dreamed up in a bold color palette of cherry red, cobalt blue and optic white. Staying true to her philosophy of providing women with options that can transition from day to night, Al Banawi explores roomy bomber jackets splashed with moody floral prints, boxy blazers with strong shoulders by way of shoulder pads, and belted robes featuring wide lapels.
