A Giorgio Armani show is officially taking place in Dubai this year to mark the 10th anniversary of the Armani hotel. The Italian house announced today that the Dubai event, originally the Cruise 2021 show scheduled for 2020, will now take place on October 26, 2021.
Dubbed One Night Only, the event will add on to the citywide celebrations set off by the beginning of the Expo 2020 on October 1, after they were both delayed by a year due to Covid-19 restrictions. While few details have been revealed about the event so far, the house has confirmed that a Giorgio Armani fashion show will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the first-ever Armani Hotel located in the world’s tallest building. “I am very happy to return to Dubai after 11 years with one of my itinerant One Night Only: an event that was cancelled due to the health emergency and that will coincide with Expo 2020. It will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 10th anniversary of my Armani Hotels,” said the designer in a statement. The One Night Only events are known to be special evenings which so far have traveled through some of the most iconic cities in the world: London in 2006, Tokyo in 2007, Beijing in 2012, Rome and New York in 2013, and Paris in 2014.
Armani is not the only major fashion house that has set its eyes on Dubai this year. Chanel too will be presenting its Cruise 2021/22 collection at an undisclosed location on November 2, 2021
