Arab Designers are Ruling the Red Carpet this Venice Film Festival

Whether its the Academy Awards or the Cannes Film Festival, Arab labels have always been the go-to choice of several regional as well as international celebrities. The 76th Venice Film Festival is no different as jaw-dropping ensembles from local designers dazzle on the red carpet.

Lebanese actress and director Nadine Labaki paid a sartorial nod to her hometown as she made an appearance in a black gown designed by Georges Hobeika. Cape-style sleeves, a V-neck, and a statement necklace had the crowd turning heads when Labaki walked the red carpet for Saturday’s screening of J’Accuse.

Meanwhile, Romanian actress and model Mădălina Diana Ghenea, as well as American model Molly Sims, sported couture creations by celebrity-loved Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad. Sims looked radiant in a lilac gown from the Zuhair Murad Spring 2019 Couture collection, and Ghenea sparkled in a phenomenal bejeweled gown. Talk about a glittering entrance.

Since Wednesday, the Venice Film Festival has been a star-studded event. And on the first day itself, French model Gabrielle Caunesil championed the region in an embellished pink number by Lebanese designer Rami Kadi.

There are still a few more days left before the film festival ends, but we wonder who will be the next celebrity to walk down the red carpet in an Arab label?
