Angelina Jolie recently ditched high heels and slipped into a pair of nice and comfortable ballet flats.

Like the rest of us, Angelina Jolie knows that there are times when you don’t want to think about the discomfort of a heel that’s too high. This must have been what she thought when choosing her outfit for her appearance at the Torino Film Festival, where she presented her new film, Sangre, which she wrote and directed based on the novel by Italian author Alessandro Baricco and stars Salma Hayek.
Perhaps Jolie, the film’s director feels the same way Paz Vega does when it comes to talking about her point of view behind the camera, and looks for more relaxed attire. Overall, this look is less Hollywood star-like, and more calm and functional. Both, her pencil skirt and her simple V-neck sweater are items one would wear to the office on any given morning. For important meetings or work appointments, they make the perfect outfit—especially when accompanied with shoes as comfortable as hers.

Of course, the fact that the functional ballerina flats are made of velvet isn’t lost on anyone, as it changes how one perceives the humble footwear. Not only will they go with an everyday outfit like this one—especially in black, which rarely clashes with any other color—but they’d also pair perfectly with an evening dress.
With the Christmas celebrations and New Year’s Eve just around the corner, it doesn’t hurt to have some allies like these, which are as festive and elegant as they are comfortable, approved for dancing until dawn.
