Amira Haroon is heading to London Fashion Week. The Dubai-based designer has been selected to participate in Fashion Scout London after winning the DDFC x FAD Dubai Fashion Showcase, a program created to shine a light on UAE-based designers during London Fashion Week. Previous designers to showcase collections at Fashion Scout London include Peter Pilotto, David Koma, and Phoebe English.
Haroon was selected from seven finalists by a judging panel that included the CEO of DDFC, Jazia Al Dhanhani and the managing and creative director of Fashion Scout London, Martyn Roberts.
“Showcasing Amira Haroon’s designs during London Fashion Week is an international celebration for all UAE-based designers, and a step further towards positioning Dubai as the leading destination for design,” says Al Dhanhani.
Shivang Dhruva, founder and director of FAD institute of Luxury, Fashion & Style in Dubai, added: “We are excited at the prospect of showcasing Amira Haroon in the prestigious Fashion Scout London during London Fashion Week. The representation of the UAE and Dubai in this international event is a reflection of the support our designers here receive.”

The Parsons graduate took to her Instagram page to reflect on her win and hint at an upcoming project: “Thank you to the jury for believing in our vision! We have a very intricate collection launching soon. Stay tuned and see you all in London Fashion Week in September.”
Haroon, who launched her eponymous label in 2011, will go on to present her Spring 2018 collection at Freemasons’ Hall in London – a historic, centuries-old site nestled between Holborn and Covent Garden – as part of Fashion Scout London, which is the UK’s largest independent showcase for emerging as well as established designers from across the globe. It will take place from September 15-19. Good luck.
