The American Music Awards 2018 kicked off at Los Angeles’s Microsoft Theater on Tuesday night, bringing with it a host of celebrities wearing their glittering best. The 46th edition of the annual awards ceremony was hosted for the second year in a row by Tracee Ellis Ross, who wore a loose-fitting, rose-colored Pyer Moss pantsuit for the occasion. The ceremony launched with a memorable performance from Artist of the Year winner Taylor Swift, who before hitting the stage to perform “I Did Something Bad”, stepped out on the red carpet wearing a holographic Balmain mini-dress and matching thigh-high boots. Other performers included Jennifer Lopez, who sported a floor-sweeping, silk, head-to-toe Barbie pink dress by Lebanese couturier Georges Chakra. Middle Eastern designers also found a fan in Mariah Carey, who made a scene-stealing entrance worthy of a diva wearing a black, curve-hugging Yousef AlJasmi creation that was heavily embellished.
