Amal Clooney Stepped Out for the UN Security Council Meeting in an Effortlessly Chic Dress

Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney was recently in New York to attend the United Nations Security Council meeting at the UN Headquarters. She spoke at the meeting on behalf of the victims of sexual violence during conflicts and advocate for women’s rights beside Iraqi activist Nadia Murad.

Murad, who is a survivor of human trafficking was also defended by Lebanese-British Clooney along with the Yazidi women and girls who were held in the house of Umm Sayyaf, the wife of ISIS financier Abu Sayyaf.

For the meeting, the wife of actor George Clooney, wore a polished form-fitting black 1958 William Vintage Balenciaga wool dress, with wooden buttons down the front. She completed her look with round sunglasses, diamond studs, a black bag, and beige suede heels.

Earlier this month, Clooney was appointed by UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, tp serve as the Special Envoy on Media Freedom and Co-Chair of the High Level Panel of Legal Experts. Taking on her new role, Clooney will head a panel of legal experts that will check laws that keep journalists from performing their duties, ensure media freedom and strengthen legal mechanisms to protect journalists.
