Neutrals may be the obvious choice for office attire, but there’s a way to not make them look drab, and Amal Clooney seems to have mastered it. Ever the inspiration for professional style, the Lebanese human rights lawyer was spotted in New York City in between meetings, making a strong case for a monochrome neutral outfit, much like Kate Middleton yesterday.

While Clooney is not one to shy away from bold colors, this particular look by the barrister featured a long cream trench coat worn over a matching shift dress. The mother-of-two accessorized her sharp look with embossed heels in complementary ivory and grey hues, and a contrasting black tote and oversized sunglasses. Her beauty look was completed with nails painted in a striking red, a pink pout, and hair worn in her signature waves. The same day saw her swap the dress for a fun but formal black and beige polka dotted button-up, styled with a pencil skirt.

The 44-year-old’s rare public appearance is one of quite few this week, as she also attended an informal UN Security Council session on Wednesday to address the Ukrainian war. Later that day, the lawyer was seen in a casual ensemble for dinner with her mother, Baria Alamuddin, which included a white sequined top tucked into a pair of relaxed, high-waisted jeans, and topped off with a short black jacket. To accessorize, Clooney looked to a pair of dangling silver earrings, a black bag, and silver pointed-toe heels. Earlier in the week, Clooney arrived in New Jersey with her mother sporting a much more pared-down outfit, which consisted of a white T-shirt, straight-fitting blue jeans, white sneakers, and a grey Fendi coat.
