Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture Spring 2018. Indigital
Classed as the renegade of the couture show circuit, Alexandre Vauthier‘s Spring 2018 Haute Couture collection punctuated a day of dreamy dresses with a dose of ’80s high-fashion. The maison is a favorite of Vogue Arabia cover girl, Rihanna and French first lady Brigitte Macron – a universal demographic indeed. Amina Muaddi returned to her position as shoe designer for the house of Vauthier, delivering exaggerated slouchy booties and slinky stilettos to amplify the day to night looks that blazed the runway.
No less, the couture show also launched the Alain Mikli x Alexandre Vauthier eyewear collection that was supported by a Mert & Marcus shot campaign starring Kate Moss. The talking points for the front row’s show notes didn’t end there (albeit, gone are leather bound journals for runway notes, everyone documents their favorite finds via Snapchat). Bella Hadid took to the Vauthier runway again, as she did last season, not once but twice. The Vogue Arabia September cover star closed the show in a voluminous asymmetric gown after walking the Grand Palais show set in a pair of white skinny jeans – yes, jeans at couture do happen.
