Anthony Vaccarello presented his Fall 2019 collection for Saint Laurent on Tuesday during Paris Fashion Week in the presence of front row stars and brand loyalists, including Kate Moss, Catherine Deneuve, Matt Dillon, and Lindsay Lohan. Read on for everything you need to know about the show.
#1. All that glitters
For the past few seasons, Saint Laurent has decided to present its semi-annual runway presentations against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower. For Fall 2019, Vaccarello decided to challenge the iconic landmark’s sparkle by lining a mirrored runway with vertical panels of Hollywood vanity mirror lightbulbs that flashed through panels of smokey glass.
#2. How glow can you go?
The second part of the show featured models walking behind a wall of glass, in black light, with a mirror behind them—their neon shoes, sunglasses, chokers, and ostrich-feather minidresses glowing in the dark.
#3. These shoes were made for walking
The label that previously gave us the plumed, fringed boots and glittering, slouchy knee-highs has provided us with some more fanciful footwear that will no doubt find itself in the closets of fashion lovers everywhere. This time, Saint Laurent’s cult shoe comes in the form of sky-high, pointed platform heels, worn with dotted tights.
#4. Fancy pants
The 80s-inspired offering was punctuated with leather trousers, cigarette pants, beaded evening jackets, micro-shorts, padded shoulders, knee-high boots, and sheer, dotted stockings.
#5. No brows are the new eyebrows
When it came to the makeup look, Tom Pecheux created extreme, bold cat-eyes that extended well past the temples, while some of the models sported lightened eyebrows, a look first spotted on the Prada runway.
