Every year, designers and brands from around the world pay homage to the region and treat their Arab clientele to dedicated Ramadan capsule collections, and 2024 is no different. Below, Vogue Arabia rounds up the best pieces and collaborations to keep an eye out for iftar and suhoor gatherings, or gifting this month.
Versace
This year, Versace beat the rest to it by launching its Ramadan capsule collection prior to the onset of the Holy Month. An amalgamation of stunning day-to-night looks, the line features elegant ensembles crafted using silk, satin, and lace. Iftar goers can pick creations doused in the fashion house’s iconic patterns — including the much-loved Barocco print — and to match, Versace’s fail-safe accessories like the Greca top handle bag, and rich gold editions of classic pumps.
Dior
Dior and gold go way back, with the metallic hue underlining the French fashion house’s timelessness since its inception. Now, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri has dreamt up iterations of the brand’s signature pieces in the luminous shade. The Bar jacket takes on iridescent colors and while the Lady Dior nods to the Spring 2024 collection embellished with delicate flowers and the new Toile de Jouy Soleil. The Lady D-Joy shifts from black to gold and is embellished with crinkled silver leather or embroidered plant motifs, and the footwear offering features shoes with glittering rhinestones and sneakers in graphic cannage.
Prada
Pastel hues picked from nature come together in Prada’s collection featuring elevated classics. Chemisier dresses, tops, and trousers, are made with weightless fabrics and embellished with matching feathers or radiant embroidery that incorporates mirrors and crystals. Unlike most 2024 Ramadan capsule collections, the drop also features silk pajamas in sophisticated prints, which are sure to be popular for suhoor gatherings. As for accessories, the Prada Galleria bag, made of Saffiano leather with delicate floral prints or sparkling studs stands as a highlight, and slippers are rendered in minimal satin, patent-leather, and brushed leather.
Valentino
Titled ‘Valentino In The Light’, the Middle East exclusive capsule collection by the Italian fashion house offers ready-to-wear pieces for the first time alongside the usual accessories. The capsule aims to celebrate the month with “contemporary sophistication”, as it takes on a color palette of soft, powdery hues, and rose gold. The ready-to-wear pieces come in easy-to-wear yet luxe silhouettes like modest co-ord sets in silk, while the accessories are rendered in a festive Lurex blend and Rose Gold hardware, as well as embroidery, woven leather, and karung.
Ferragamo
The Italian luxury brand’s Ramadan offering comes in deep hues of forest green punctuated by softer shades, as it blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary elegance. Highlights of the collection include a long, breezy dress adorned with meticulously hand-applied crystals along the neckline, and a sage-colored tunic and trousers ensemble with a scarf detail, while footwear comes in matching green mules and flats in white, embellished with crystals and the Gancini detail. Other accessories include the Wanda bag in forest green crystal, gold resin bracelets, and earrings featuring emerald strass on golden or black brass.
Giorgio Armani
Fluid kaftans and abaya-inspired silhouettes dominate Giorgio Armani’s Ramadan collection which draws on the fashion house’s unique sense of sophistication and traditional shapes. Pieces like jalabiya tunics, coats, and capes come in the brand’s signature color palette of deep blues and greens with chiné jacquards and precious embroideries.
Michael Kors
For Ramadan, Michael Kors has curated a special collection of its handbags, ready-to-wear, and accessories in styles and colorways that are exclusive to the Middle East. Offerings include the brand’s limited-edition Cynthia satchel, which comes in a metallic finish and mirror accents alongside matching kitten-heeled Celia sandals, while clothing options feature modest, shimmering dresses in black, navy, and cream. Christian Louboutin is marking Ramadan with a Middle East exclusive collection that includes top picks from Louboutin Kids for the first time. Highlights of the capsule include an exclusive shade developed for the collection called Electric, described by the brand as “a bold sapphire blue hue that is the color of bliss, serenity, and peace”, and the Hot Chick Sling Moucharastrass 100 which comes with three different sizes of crystal Swarovski rhinestones.
Max Mara
Max Mara unveiled its Ramadan 2024 collection at a picturesque majlis in Dubai, where visitors had the opportunity to discover the pieces inspired by the “herbaceous borders of an English country garden in June.” The collection features 11 modest pieces in vivid hues like yellow, orange, and even a soft pink—all printed with dainty florals—and matching silk and charmeuse stoles and foulards.
Etro
Titled ‘Golden Thread’, Etro’s capsule collection dedicated to Ramadan comes from the Italian fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2024 season. Selections include flowing silhouettes adorned with gathered details and draped sleeves, the house’s signature paisley embroidery rendered in lurex threads, and other luxe fabrics like silk, lurex pekin, crêpe de chine, twill embellished with floral designs, and jacquard motifs. Dresses, kaftans, and blouses paired with pants and breezy skirts round out the collection.
Swarovski
This year, Swarovski is celebrating Ramadan with a collection steeped in mixed cuts and multifaceted stones. Expect sparkling pieces in a range of bold hues, from vibrant greens to turquoise blues, along with more timeless designs that promise to stand the test of time. If you’re really in the mood for something that pops, however, set your heart on Swarovski’s beautiful crescent moon-inspired creations.
Karl Lagerfeld
Taking inspiration from the beauty of the night sky, Karl Lagerfeld’s Ramadan collection gives us seven designs to fall in love with this season.
