The Best-Dressed Stars on the VMAs Red Carpet

At Sunday night’s Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, singers, models, designers, and actors brought their A-game to the red carpet. This year, stars turned the notch up on glamour, settling for elegant looks that felt more catwalk than photo-op (case in point: Paris Jackson who stepped out in a sheer Dior ensemble.) Meanwhile, the night’s host, Katy Perry, chose a white body-con dress by Stéphane Rolland that won’t soon be forgotten. Pink chose to forego the couture gowns worn by other attendees in favor of a loose, pinstriped suit, complete with a tie, to accept the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, which honors those who have made a lasting impact on the music industry with their visuals.

Arab designers had a major moment on the red carpet. Hailey Baldwin opted for a sheer, embellished jumpsuit by Zuhair Murad, while Demi Lovato stunned in a custom couture creation by the Lebanese designer. Amber Rose turned heads in a black, form-fitting gown by Yousef Aljasmi and Olivia Munn turned up in an embroidered Nicolas Jebran minidress.

Just like their female counterparts, the men, including Jared Leto in Gucci and Kendrick Lamar, who collected the most trophies of the night, including the Video of the Year Award for “Humble,” wearing Prada, made a high impact on the red carpet too.

In the gallery ahead, see the best-dressed stars from the 2017 Video Music Awards red carpet.
