Following Beirut Blast, HH Sheikh Mohammed Sends Lebanon This Message

Tonight, Beirut will not sleep as its citizens work through the rubble in a race against the clock to find missing people and help the wounded following an extraordinary mushroom-cloud explosion that blast through its port. Damage from the explosion can be seen kilometers away with all buildings in the close perimeter decimated. The Arab world is voicing its solidarity with the Lebanese. As the Burj Khalifa lit up with the flag of Lebanon, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai posted to his millions of social media followers the Lebanon flag and a message reading, “Our condolences to our beloved people in Lebanon… God have mercy on those who have moved to you… God be kind on Lebanese people.” HH Sheikh Mohammed’s message has since been shared by other members of the royal family, including his son the Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and sister HE Sheikha Fatima Rashed Al Maktoum.

The Lebanese Red Cross has made an urgent call for all blood types at the Lebanese Red Cross blood transfusion centers in Lebanon, citing Tripoli, Jounieh, Antelias, Spears, Zahle, Saida, and Nabatieh as locations for blood donations. Vogue Arabia will continue updating this story as it develops.
