When it comes to adventurous things to do in the UAE, one tends to get spoiled for choice. From skydiving by The Palm in Dubai to the world’s longest zipline in Ras Al Khaimah, here are five exciting things to do to give you that much-needed adrenaline rush this weekend:

1. Clymb, Abu Dhabi

This new sports and leisure attraction on Yas Island has been awarded two world record titles for the world’s largest indoor skydiving wind tunnel and the world’s tallest indoor artificial climbing wall. With five climbing walls of varying degrees of height and difficulty, Clymb Abu Dhabi is suitable for both beginners and experts alike.

Price: AED 250 for a first time flyer experience.

2. The world’s longest zipline, Ras al Khaimah

Located up in the mountains of Jebel Jais, the world’s longest zipline is 2.8kms of adrenaline-fuelled fun. Thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies will travel at speeds of up to 120kph to 150kph at a height of 1,680 meters above sea level on top of Jebel Jais mountain. The experience will see participants fitted with a special harness for the adventure, with the longest flight itself taking approximately two-to-three minutes. Once completed, guests will receive a certificate of completion as well.

Price: AED 400 and advance bookings are essential.

3. Skydiving the Palm, Dubai

Get set to jump out of a plane at a height of almost 4,000 meters and swoop down onto the stunning Dubai landscape. As you come down, you will be able to catch stunning sights of Dubai from above, including a bird’s eye view of the Palm Islands, the World Islands, Burj Khalifa, and the desert landscape. You can go for a solo jump if you are experienced or a tandem dive if you are fairly new to the sport. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and includes a video to help you remember all the bits that flashed past too fast to register.

Price: A tandem jump (with an instructor) costs AED 1,999 including the video.

4. Parasailing, Fujairah

The beaches at Fujairah are among the best in the UAE so be prepared to get blown away with this over-the-water adventure, which promises to deliver spectacular views. Tied to the back of a boat, you will take to the air like a kite to the wind, only at a much faster speed. As your parachute puffs out behind you, you will sail into adrenaline-inducing heights.

Price: Starting from AED 330 per session.

5. Flyboarding in Dubai

It is one of the newest and most popular extreme sports to hit the coasts of Dubai. Flyboarding consists of a board with a hose that is attached to a jetski engine. The engine pumps water out of the hose at a great force, allowing one to propel into the air at heights of up to 10 meters. While you are in the air, the board can be maneuvered using hand controls or even distribute your weight accordingly, giving you the feeling of flying.

Price: AED 300 for a 20-minute session.
