As global restrictions on movement and economic activity begin to gradually lift, it is now crucial to assess the past, the present, and plan ahead. Middle Eastern governments are doing their part in restoring a sense of normalcy to society, but on the ground level, positive conversations about reeling from the effects of Covid-19 have never been more necessary. To that end, Wired Middle East has launched an exciting new series of live discussions that will cover a range of sectors that are being affected by the pandemic.
Dubbed Wired Live, the series will take off with its first episode, Regenerating Retail this Wednesday, June 17. Being one of the industries that have been majorly impacted by Covid-19’s restrictions, retail businesses have been forced to channel their efforts on online sales in order to not lose them completely. This is why Regenerating Retail will bring together key experts in the retail and e-commerce fields to “shine a light on what retailers can do to stay alive during this time of uncertainty, and how it will change the retail industry in the long-term.”
Moderated by Ben Flanagan, Senior Editor at Wired Middle East, the online panel will be joined by speakers Shireen El Khatib, Chief Executive Officer of Majid Al Futtaim – Shopping Malls; Sonali Bhatia, Vice President, Strategic Merchants – Market Development, MEA, MasterCard; and Mohamed Galal, Managing Director, and CEO, eXtra.
This online panel will see the discussion of business challenges facing the retail industry across four key segments: strategy, operations, technology, and consumers. Viewers can also expect to find out how organizations can be reshaped to be more agile, how AR/VR can change the online retail experience, how businesses can optimize their operations to face disruptions and the effect of this on long-term consumer behavior.
