Despite the recent Sag-Aftra strikes and subsequent delays in production, HBO seems to have its schedule under control. On Thursday, HBO CEO Casey Bloys revealed the network’s upcoming slate of programming with potential return dates for popular shows such as House of the Dragon, Euphoria, and The White Lotus.

For fans of the Targaryen dynasty who simply cannot wait to see where the ‘Dance of the Dragons’ takes us next, the wait is almost over. According to Bloys the second season of this Game of Thrones prequel will likely premier in early summer of 2024. Consisting of eight episodes the season has already wrapped filming and is currently in postproduction as it was mostly unaffected by the strikes – most of the actors are represented by a UK union and not Sag-Aftra.

However, the wait is a bit longer for other popular HBO titles. Season 3 of The White Lotus which was initially eyeing a 2024 release has now been pushed to 2025. The satirical anthology series from creator Mike White shut down production earlier this summer when the now-resolved WGA strike was called followed by the actors’ strike. The upcoming third season is reportedly set in Thailand with Natasha Rothwell reprising her Season 1 role as Belinda.

Sam Levinson’s teen drama Euphoria is also slated for a 2025 release despite a string of controversies and the passing of Angus Cloud who played Fezco on the show. In a previous interview with Elle, Levinson describes the upcoming installment as “film noir” where the audience will get to “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world” through the eyes of Rue – played by Zendaya.
