Congratulations are in order for Simone Biles.
The Olympic gymnast announced her Valentine’s Day engagement to Jonathan Owens via Instagram. She shared a series of joyful snaps—including several of Owens proposing in a gazebo and a close-up of her diamond ring. “I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you,” she wrote. “You’re everything I dreamed of and more.” On her story, she also shared a picture of dozens of roses arranged in a heart shape.

Meanwhile, the Houston Texans player shared the same images to his own personal page, albeit with a different caption: “Woke up this morning with a fiancée,” he wrote.
The couple first met in March 2020, and went public with their relationship later that summer. Owens has frequently and publicly shared his admiration for Biles. After the gymnast withdrew from the individual all-around final at the Tokyo Olympics, he posted a message of support on social media, writing to Biles, “your strength and courage is unmatched and you inspire me more and more everyday.” In a June 2021 interview with Texas Monthly, the football player said their relationship was “a match made in heaven.”
“There’s no better person for me,” Owens continued. “She loves me, she’s so affectionate. I just love that.”
