See The Moment Meghan First Looked at Her Finished Wedding Dress

The moment Meghan Markle walked down the aisle in Givenchy by Clare Waight Keller to marry Prince Harry and become the Duchess of Sussex has been well documented. But few will have been privy to the meetings during the conception of the gown and its resplendent veil – the close collaboration between designer and modern-day princess on a shared vision to embrace the Commonwealth flora by stitching each emblem onto the circumference of the five-meter-long tulle centerpiece. Until now.

In a new trailer for Queen of the World, an ITV documentary which gives an intimate look into the life of Her Majesty the Queen, the moment Markle sees her wedding gown is captured. In the brief snippet, the bride-to-be is seen admiring the delicate embroidery on the creation and saying: “53 countries, oh my goodness. It will keep us busy.”

As well as the general splendor of Keller’s craftsmanship, she is commenting on the responsibilities she would go on to gain as a member of the royal family and Commonwealth Youth Ambassador. Indeed, the program, according to ITV, will document the Queen’s role as a figure on the world’s stage and the handing over of her duties to the younger generation, including the Commonwealth, which “has been a central focus and passion throughout [her] life”.

British broadcaster ITV captured footage of the royal family over a year, including access to Prince Charles and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The documentary will air in the UK on September 25.
