Having made fashion history twice, Aden was the first hijabi model to star on a Vogue cover with our June 2017 issue and also one-third of Vogue‘s first-ever group hijabi cover with our April 2019 issue. Aden had also been the first hijab-wearing model to walk for New York Fashion Week, and has starred in campaigns, and walked the runways for some of the world’s biggest brands, breaking stereotypes on the way. All this came with its fair share of hurdles for Aden who stood by her faith while navigating through the sartorial world. “I think it’s important to remember that wearing a hijab is a woman’s personal choice,” Aden had shared with Vogue Arabia previously. “It doesn’t make her any better or worse than another Muslim woman. To me, it symbolizes modesty and gives me a sense of power.”
