If you’ve ever encountered the marquee artwork by Henri Matisse or John Lavery inspired by the bountiful Côte d’Azur, you must experience its recreation while you dine al fresco on the terrace of the iconic LPM. Nestled in the heart of Abu Dhabi on Al Maryah Island, the restaurant takes you on a voyage to the French Riviera to sense its luxurious charm and succulent French Mediterranean cuisine without having to catch a plane.
The journey begins as you enter through an eclectic graffiti walkway depicted by the very talented Sanja Janković. As you step in, you find yourself in a traditional French brasserie setting with toned down pastel palette – hints of warm pistachio and elegant beige surrounding you. LPM loves attention to detail, note the signature centerpiece bronze sculpture, mosaics and marble, trademark Max Cartier saucepans, charmingly messy flower arrangements, and harlequin mirrors. To add a dash of flavor and character, the walls are embellished by bold and eccentric 20th Century art by painters descending from the South of France.

The focal point of LPM is the harmonious combination of food and art. So, just as the interiors are a visual delight with a pop of brightness, so is the food. LPM wants you to experience all the benefits of shared dishes served fresh à la minute and prepared in front of you in an open kitchen to retain integrity. The menu at LPM is a convergence of cuisines – Niçoise, French classics, and a hint of traditional Italian. Hence you find the salade niçoise, the Italian gnocci à la tomate fraîche, and of course the classic escargots de bourgogne. The dessert menu also offers a sumptuous selection, from the light and fruity cassata to a chocolatey-rich mousse au chocolat, and you cannot miss the iconic and apotheosized creamy indulgence that is gâteau au fromage frais.
