The Low Down: The Dubai Design District is fast becoming a mini culinary hub thanks to the arrivals of several new restaurants including Belong, which is not only licensed but offers something unique, dishing up retro Mediterranean cuisine in an eclectic atmosphere.
The ground floor venue offers a restaurant and lounge experience, depending on your mood. The atmosphere is warm and playful with the walls covered with giant murals of famous faces and places from Arab and North African culture, including an homage to the late singer Umm Kulthum.
The Belong lounge
By day, carefully selected beats play in the background. However, by night the lounge transforms into a chilled nightlife scene, with live musicians, performing nightly from Wednesday to Friday.
The menu is broken down into sharing dishes, salads, sandwiches, mains, sides and desserts – all bursting with textures and flavors from across the Med. If you find the menu overwhelming, let the knowledgable staff give their suggestions.
